Family Formation is designed to help parents respond to the Church's call to be "the first and foremost educators of their children" and to help families grow in the transforming love of God by understanding and living the Catholic Faith.
Kindergarten-7th Grade
Family Formation is the only option for families with students in Kindergarten through 7th grade. This unique experience helps children and parents grow in faith together, setting the example that Formation is for everyone!
Family Formation supports parents in their role as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic Faith. It is a tied-and-true curriculum with lessons that are engaging, down to earth, and easy to understand. The lessons transmit solid Catholic teaching and bring the Faith to life within the family. Since its beginning in 1988, Family Formation has grown to serve thousands of families across the United States and beyond.

Families meet monthly for fellowship and learning! After a prayer and introduction, students go with their peers and a catechist to have an in depth lesson while parents remain in the Community Center to receive a materials to teach the next three lessons at home. Family Faith Formation will be the sole Faith Formation option for families with children in kindergarten through 7th grade.
IN THE HOME: Weekly Home Lessons provide the backbone for children's spiritual formation and cover all of the major principles of the Catholic Faith.
Lessons include hands-on activities for the whole family, audios, stories, games, music, and booklets to aid families in developing traditions that integrate the liturgical seasons of the Church.
AT THE PARISH: Families gather together once a month. Using the lessons provided, trained catechists teach the children in grade-level classrooms while parents attend an adult teaching on the same topic. Parents are then provided all of the Home Lesson materials they will need for the rest of the month to teach the Faith to their family.

God has given you all the graces necessary to lead your children to heaven. He trusts you to do this job, and will always provide the grace for you to do whatever He's asking of you! Read more HERE.
Absolutely! All parents are given the graces necessary to lead their children to our Heavenly Father. The additional effectiveness of family-based catechesis is a wonderful blessing to families in these more difficult situations. The clear, simple explanations of the Faith as presented in Family Formation lessons are a great way for a non-Catholic parent to learn about Catholicism and to have their questions answered.
Each Home Lesson offers parents a great deal of flexibility and a variety of activities. This allows parents, who are the best judges of their children's skills and attention spans, to tailor lessons to their own family's needs.
We encourage parents to challenge, but not overwhelm their children. With younger children, it is best to approach topics at the most basic level knowing that they will be covered again the next time through the three-year cycle.
You can also purchase the Preschool Home Lessons for families with young children.
The biggest challenge to families is simply finding the time to do Family Formation each week. At our first meeting of the school year, we have parents and children get together and agree on a time, put it in writing, and commit to setting aside one hour each week. For many, the traditional time slot that was used for the weekly religious education program works well. Others may choose Sunday afternoons and use their Family Formation time as part of the way they keep the Sabbath holy.
