Our Parish Supports FAITH in Flint! Since 2016 the Catholic Community of St. Jude has reach out to the Flint community, specifically the St. Francis Prayer Center, St. Mary Parish, the New Hope Center, as well as individuals in the community. At the St. Francis
Prayer Center, our youth have assisted with grounds and renovation projects, and at Thanksgiving and Christmas, our parish has provided food, clothing, and bedding to the community. At St Mary Parish, our parish has provided food and clothing for their pantry, grounds cleanup in the neighborhood and prayer visits to the neighborhood homes. At New Hope Center, our parish family has provided support by collecting clothing for the "back to work" closet where those who need appropriate clothing for a job interview can obtain assistance in preparing for a new job. Due to high unemployment in the area many have not needed work attire for some time and need this assistance when a potential job is found. We have also provided large water donations to help with the contaminated water problems in Flint. We also invite parishioners periodically to join us in a day trip to Flint to support the parishes in reaching out to neighborhood residents and to let them know that we are motivated by our discipleship to Christ. Events may be visiting with neighbors, helping with yard work, helping with a neighborhood bar-b-q, making cookies and delivering them to neighbors etc.
If you are interested in joining us in a future event, please contact Deacon Rob at 517-669-8335 and he will be sure to include you in the next event
Youth Involvement
St. Jude's Rooted Youth Group has been helping to spread FAITH in Flint by way of a service relationship with the St. Francis Prayer Center. A Mission Trip in the summer of 2016 started the relationship with the Prayer Center, a beautiful place of respite in a neighborhood that is struggling.
During that trip, our students worked to fix up the center and donated a grill to be used to help feed the local residents.

Prayer Partners
Parishioners also are invited to become prayer partners with a resident in Flint who could use prayers and encouragement. Some Flint partners are home bound and are unable to get around the community, some are beginning to draw closer to God and all are appreciative of this ministry of companionship.
We invite Individuals, couples and families to participate in this ministry of praying daily for a Flint brother or sister in need or/and invited to send cards or notes to the prayer partner in Flint to encourage them and remind them that they are being prayed for daily. Some of our St. Jude prayer partners have gone to Flint to meet their Flint partners.
