The Compassion Ministry was proposed in the Fall of 2022 by two parishioners who had lost their respective spouses. They believed that such a ministry would serve the parish well by offering additional support to those in mourning-from the inception of their loss and beyond. Under the direction of Deacon Rob Strouse, the Compassion Ministry became a reality and is now made up of parishioners who offer loving support, prayers, and helpful resources. (Care Notes, a small library and occasional workshops/seminars) to those who are grieving. The Widows at Heart Potluck Luncheons take place monthly (the third Monday of each month 11:30am-2pm) gathering in the Knights of Columbus Room in the Community Center. Special offsite restaurant event for Christmas, and no gatherings July or August.
Service in the Compassion Ministry is open to all parish members who have the desire to offer loving support to the bereaved as they grieve the death of a loved one. To join our team, please contact either of our members listed below.
